On Sunday 13 October Robert is leading a walk from Blackheath car park south of Chilworth at 09:30 (not the Blackheath on London!). It is a 10 1/2 mile walk crossing the Wey Valley to a couple of hillocks on the other side (and they really are only hillocks) and return via Chantry Woods.  A few inclines and several views but not a singe stile.
Robert reports that there are several possible lunch stops. There is a pub two-thirds the way around. Unfortunately the pub at Blackheath car park is closed for major refurb – they are currently putting the roof back on.
Directions: Chilworth is half way between Shalford and Albury on the A248 just south-east of Guildford. At Chilworth railway station turn south across the level crossing up the single-lane road through the woods until it opens out at a cross roads. Turn left there and drive up the hill. The road leads straight into Blackheath car park at the top of the hill.
